Emefiele operating separate $47bn foreign reserve account, 527 others without FG’s knowledge – Report Suspended Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele has unilaterally been operating a separate foreign reserve account on behalf of the country without the knowledge of the Federal Government, a security report has revealed. Emefiele, according to the report, masterminded the creation of two foreign reserve accounts for Nigeria with the second one the Federal Government is not aware of, having about $47billion. CBN under Emefiele, the report further revealed, has also been running no fewer than 527 private bank accounts with public monies running to several billions stashed in them without the government being in the know. This is coming barely a few hours after record holder for the longest hours in cooking (individual category), Chef Hilda Baci, who cooked on a stretch for 100 hours, was certified by the Guinness World Records. The PUNCH had earlier reported that 26-year-old Dammy, who is passionate about her ambition had cooked up to 111 hours on Tuesday, in Oye Local Government Area in Ekiti. BREAKING: Tajudeen Abbas elected Speaker House of Representatives Mr Abbas defeated two other candidates, Idris Wase and Sani Jaji. Tajudeen Abbas has been elected the new Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives. He polled 353 votes to emerge the winner of the Speakership election. The other contestants, former Deputy Speaker Idris Wase and Sani Jaji, polled three votes each. Mr Abbas is the anointed candidate of the ruling  All Progressives Congress  (APC). He represents Zaria Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, North-west Nigeria. The new Speaker was first elected to the House in 2011. He succeeds  Femi Gbajabiamila .

Declare late MKO Abiola president-elect, Accord Party urges Tinubu The Accord Party, Lagos State Chapter has urged President Bola Tinubu to dispense justice on June 12 by declaring late Chief MKO Abiola president-elect. This is contained in a statement by Mr. Dele Oladeji, State Chairman of the party, to mark Nigeria’s Democracy Day. Oladeji said the party wanted Tinubu to declare MKO president-elect of the annulled June 12, 1993, presidential election to bring an end to a long lingering injustice against Nigerians.
